Project Overview: Record-Breaking Height
The National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Azerbaijan required a partition wall of unprecedented scale, and NEUWALL delivered a solution standing at 16.54 meters high — the tallest operable partition wall we have engineered and installed to date. This landmark project demanded precision manufacturing, rigorous structural calculations, and on-site coordination to accommodate the arena's vast interior volume. The wall serves as a critical spatial divider within one of Azerbaijan's premier sporting venues, enabling flexible event configurations for gymnastics competitions, concerts, and multi-purpose gatherings.
Sliding Mechanism: Effortless Panel Movement
Despite the imposing 16.54-meter height, each wall panel operates with remarkable ease. The design principle centers on positioning the pushing point at waist height, allowing operators to move even the largest panels with minimal physical effort. This ergonomic consideration ensures that venue staff can reconfigure the space quickly between events without specialized equipment or excessive manpower, maintaining the arena's operational efficiency.
Dual Rail System: Top Steel Rail with Floor Guide
Stability at this height is achieved through a dual-rail configuration. The primary load-bearing rail is mounted at the ceiling structure, carrying the full weight of each panel as it traverses the top steel rail. A secondary guide rail installed at floor level prevents lateral sway and ensures precise vertical alignment throughout the panel's travel path. This combination delivers smooth, wobble-free operation even at the maximum extended position.
Operational Convenience and Reliability
The integration of waist-high push points, overhead steel rail carriage, and floor guidance produces a system where panels slide smoothly and predictably across their full range. Venue operators benefit from consistent, repeatable performance — the wall can be deployed and retracted hundreds of times per year without degradation in movement quality, supporting the arena's demanding schedule of events and reconfigurations.
